FOUNDER

-SHRIYA SAXENA (she/her)

"It is not enough to be compassionate – you must act." -The Dalai Lama. If I could talk about why I started Ashia  in just a few words, this would be it.

Creating an empathetic community and advocating for the same is my life's purpose. Ashia is not only an organization but also my dream, a movement.

PRESIDENT

-SEONA PARANJAPE (she/her)

I am an avid reader, a trained classical dancer, and an aspiring doctor. With Ashia, I aim to create a world where help is always just around the corner; a world filled with love and compassion where people empathize with, and support each other without any judgement.

HEAD OF ADMINISTRATION

-TIA GANDHI (she/her)

“If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain,

I shall not live in vain.” This quote by Emily Dickinson describes me as person in ways I won’t ever be able to. Advocacy for mental illnesses and destigmatisation of the same has always been and continues to be my priority. My work at Ashia has helped me realise that I’m not alone in this journey, there are others that walk the same path and for that, I’m forever grateful.

CO- HEAD OF EVENTS

-SMRITI NAIK (she/her)

“I am in the mood to dissolve in the sky”
A quote by Virginia Woolf is a quote that best describes me. Bubbly, cheerful and happy-go lucky, I strive to enjoy each day as it’s my last and hope to light a smile on everyone I meet.
If my contribution towards Ashia’s cause makes even the smallest of impacts, I shall be successful

HEAD OF DANCE

-DRISHTI MAKHIJA (she/her)

Being a people's person, I am always bubbling with energy. Positivity is my mantra and I just cannot stop myself from grooving to every single song I hear.

A trained classical dancer and a die heart Bollywood fan it gives me nothing but happiness to put on any song and dance to it. Dance sets me free and there's nothing that can define me better.

HEAD OF MUSIC

-ANAGHA VENKATAGIRI (she/her)

I’ve always looked at music as something to rely on, which plays into the notion of the ‘Empathetic Community’ that’s at the nexus of Ashia. We use music to reach out, to understand, and create the kind of retreat you’d return to after a long, tiring day.
